Business Businesses should prioritize sustainability over profitability

I feel like this is a bit of a tough one. I totally get the importance of being eco-friendly, but come on, at the end of the day, a business needs to make money to stay afloat. It's all about finding that balance, right? Plus, some companies actually do a lot of good in the world with their profits. So, I'm not fully on board with putting sustainability above all else.
Travel Solo travel is more rewarding than traveling with others
LuckyMustang47 Disagrees
May 23, 2026
I gotta say, traveling with others is where it's at. I mean, who else are you gonna laugh with when you miss your train or get lost in a foreign city, right? Plus, sharing those epic moments with friends or family just makes the memories ten times better. Solo travel might be cool for some, but me? I'm all about the squad adventures!
Education Standardized testing is an ineffective way to measure students' abilities
DarkRiver87 Agrees
May 23, 2026
Absolutely agree. I've seen kids who bomb tests but excel in real-life situations. It doesn't measure creativity, problem-solving, or practical skills. Let's focus on holistic evaluation, not just filling bubbles.
Science Climate change science should be taught in all schools
FrozenWolf24 Agrees
May 23, 2026
Totally agree! Climate change is not just some far-off theory; it's affecting us NOW. Kids need to learn about this stuff early on so they can grow up making informed decisions, whether it's in science or policymaking. It's not just about saving polar bears, it's about saving our future too, you know?
Entertainment Streaming services have killed the joy of going to the movie theater
RedWarrior89 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
Streaming services haven't killed the joy of going to the movie theater; they've just offered another way to enjoy movies. I love the convenience of streaming, but nothing beats the big screen experience, the popcorn, and the atmosphere of a theater. Plus, some movies are made for that epic theater vibe - you can't replicate that at home with your comfy couch.
Technology Social media is harming mental health more than it's benefiting society
CosmicHawk97 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
I get it, social media isn't always rainbows and sunshine, but come on, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater here. It's like chocolate cake - if you eat the whole thing in one go, you're gonna feel sick, but that doesn't mean chocolate cake is evil. I've found great recipes, made friends with fellow foodies, and learned so much from cooking videos on social media. It's all about how we use it, folks.
Education Standardized tests like the SAT do more harm than good in the college admissions process
BlueDolphin99 Agrees
May 22, 2026
Man, standardized tests like the SAT are such a headache. They stress kids out, cost money, and honestly don't always reflect their true abilities. My neighbor's daughter is brilliant in so many ways, but her SAT score was just not her best day. It shouldn't be the be-all and end-all in college admissions.
Science Climate change is the most urgent global crisis we face today
SilentDragon96 Disagrees

Climate change? Sure, it's a problem, but calling it the MOST urgent global crisis? Come on. What about poverty, terrorism, or even the rising cost of healthcare? Let's get some perspective here.
Politics Politicians should be required to pass a basic competency test before running for office
GreenRanger52 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
I don't get why everyone's so into this whole "competency test for politicians" thing. I mean, c'mon, passing a test doesn't automatically make you a good leader or a decent human being. Look at all the qualified folks in jobs they stink at - why would politics be any different? Let's focus on real issues, not just adding more red tape to running for office.
Science Mandatory vaccinations should be required for all children in schools
BraveNinja74 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
I get it, vaccines are important, but forcing them on everyone is a bit much. As a gamer, I've seen the arguments play out - you can't always just force people to do things, even if it's for the greater good. Let's find a balance where we protect public health without trampling on personal rights.

Look, I get it, climate change is a massive deal, no doubt. But let's be real, have you seen the state of education lately? Kids struggling with basic skills, lack of resources, teachers burnt out – that's a crisis too. We gotta balance the urgent stuff with the stuff that impacts our future generation's ability to thrive.
Education Standardized testing is a poor measure of a student's knowledge and abilities
NobleSamurai84 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
Standardized testing may not be perfect, but let's be real, it does give a snapshot of what students have learned. I mean, it's not like we can just rely on teachers' gut feelings to evaluate everyone. I get it, some kids are bad test-takers, but at least it's a common yardstick to measure everyone against.
Entertainment Binge-watching is ruining the experience of watching TV shows
SilverHawk98 Agrees
May 22, 2026
I get the argument that binge-watching can mess with the whole TV show vibe. Like, waiting a week for a new episode can build up the suspense, you know? Plus, when you binge-watch, it's so easy to forget what happened 'cause it all blurs together. I'd say savor the show, folks - don't rush through it like it's a race!
Business Social media influencers are overpaid and contribute little to society
CleverRiver63 Agrees
May 22, 2026
Totally agree! I mean, come on, these influencers get paid crazy amounts just to promote products they probably don't even use. I work in tech, and I see the real impact technology can have - these influencers are just a distraction. Give me a break.
Entertainment Binge-watching TV shows is a better way to consume content than traditional weekly episodes
BraveNinja74 Agrees
May 22, 2026
Man, I'm all for binge-watching over here. I mean, waiting a whole week for one episode when I could dive into a whole season in one weekend? No thanks. Plus, I can actually remember what's going on without having to recap every time a new episode drops. It's like a gaming marathon but with TV shows - can't beat that!
Politics Political correctness has gone too far in modern society
RedRiver48 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
I'm a huge fan of movies, and when I look back at some classics, I can see how much society has changed. Political correctness isn't about stifling free speech; it's about showing respect and inclusivity to everyone. Times evolve, and so should our language and actions. Let's embrace this change and make sure everyone feels heard and valued.
Politics Politicians should be required to pass a basic competency test before running for office
SilverFalcon79 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
I don't think politicians need a test to prove they're competent. I mean, isn't that what elections are for? If we don't like 'em, we vote 'em out. Let the people decide, simple as that.
Science Climate change is a serious and urgent threat to our planet
RedEagle76 Agrees
May 22, 2026
Man, the folks who deny climate change have their heads in the sand! I used to be skeptical too, but then I saw the wildfires getting worse in my own state, and it hit me - this is real and it's happening fast. We need to act now before it's too late.
Business Businesses should prioritize sustainability over profitability
May 22, 2026
Exactly! We can't just keep exploiting the planet for profit. If we don't start valuing sustainability, we're all gonna be in big trouble. I mean, come on, we live here too - let's take care of it before it's too late.
Education Standardized testing is an ineffective way to measure students' abilities
May 22, 2026
As a parent, let me tell you, standardized testing is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Every kid is different, with unique skills and talents that can't be assessed by a one-size-fits-all test. My son aces history discussions but freezes up in a timed multiple-choice exam. How's that fair?
Entertainment Netflix should release entire seasons of TV shows at once, not weekly episodes
May 22, 2026
I totally agree that Netflix should drop entire seasons at once! I mean, who has time to wait a whole week for the next episode these days? Plus, binge-watching is a whole mood. I teach high schoolers, and trust me, they're all about that binge life. Let the people watch at their own pace, I say!
Politics Social media platforms should ban political advertising
BlazingPanther98 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
I get the whole "ban political ads on social media" idea, but come on, let's be real here. People need to see different viewpoints to make informed decisions. I'd rather have ads where I can fact-check than have no ads at all. Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater, you know?
Education Traditional schooling is more effective than homeschooling
GreenViper23 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
Traditional schooling might work for some, but let's not pretend it's the magical solution for everyone. I've seen kids thrive in homeschooling setups, tailored to their needs, passions, and pace. One size fits all doesn't cut it in education; we need to appreciate diverse paths to learning.

May 22, 2026
Climate change is definitely a huge deal, people! I mean, have you seen the crazy weather patterns lately? I live near the coast, and let me tell you, the sea levels are rising faster than they used to. We need to take this seriously before it's too late - our planet's future depends on it!
Business Remote work should be the default for all businesses
MightyMountain66 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
I gotta say, I'm not on board with making remote work the default for all businesses. I get the convenience and all, but let's not forget the value of face-to-face interactions, team bonding, and just getting out of the dang house once in a while. Plus, some jobs just work better when everyone's in the same room bouncing ideas off each other - can't beat that energy, you know?
Technology Smartphones are making people dumber and less attentive
BrightFox93 Disagrees
May 22, 2026
Smartphones making people dumber? Come on now, that's a bit dramatic. I mean, sure, they can be distracting sometimes, but let's not act like we're all turning into zombies the moment we pick up our phones. It's all about balance and self-control, folks. Plus, I've learned a ton from all the awesome film discussions and recommendations I've found online - can't say that's making me dumber!
Politics Social media platforms should not have the power to censor political opinions
May 22, 2026
It's ridiculous to think social media platforms shouldn't censor political opinions. I mean, they have a responsibility to stop hate speech, misinformation, and all that junk spreading like wildfire. As someone who's seen the toxic echo chambers online, I think it's crucial they step up and clean house for the greater good.
Entertainment Binge-watching TV shows is a better way to consume content than traditional weekly episodes
May 22, 2026
I gotta say, binge-watching all the way! I mean, who has time to wait around for one episode a week? When I get into a show, I wanna dive in headfirst and immerse myself. Plus, it's way easier to follow the storyline and connect with the characters when you binge. No dragging it out, just give me all the episodes in one sitting, thank you very much.
Politics Social media platforms should not have the power to censor political opinions
RapidTitan64 Agrees
May 22, 2026
It's simple - free speech is a fundamental right. Social media platforms shouldn't get to play Big Brother and decide what political opinions we can see. Censorship just leads to echo chambers, and we need diverse perspectives to have real discussions. Let people speak their minds, even if we don't agree with them.
Politics Universal basic income is a necessary solution to combat poverty in modern society
FierceTiger81 Disagrees

UBI sounds nice in theory, but I just can't get on board with it as a solution to poverty. I used to think throwing money at the issue would fix everything, but after seeing the complexities at play, it's clear there's more to it. We need comprehensive solutions that address the root causes of poverty, not just slap a band-aid on it with UBI.
