Politics Social media platforms should be required to fact-check political content
Jan 15, 2026
Man, I'm all for fact-checking political content on social media! It's like the wild west out there with all the misinformation spreading like wildfire. We gotta hold these platforms accountable for the craziness they allow. It's time to clean up the online mess and bring some honesty back into the picture.
Science Nuclear energy is absolutely essential for solving climate change

I get the idea of needing clean energy, but saying nuclear is the absolute answer? Nah. Have we all forgotten about the risks and the radioactive waste it produces? Plus, investing in renewables like solar and wind is way cleaner and safer in the long run. Let’s not jump to nuclear as a quick fix without considering the consequences, people!

I'm all for fact-checking political content on social media. I mean, c'mon, we need some truth in the sea of fake news and propaganda flooding our feeds. Back in my day, we had to rely on newspapers and TV for info - at least make sure what we're seeing online is legit, right?
Lifestyle A college degree is no longer worth the investment for most people
SilentNinja86 Agrees
Jan 15, 2026
Man, college degrees costing an arm and a leg with no guarantee of a good job afterward? Count me out! I've seen so many folks drowning in student debt, doing jobs they could've landed without that degree. Let's face it, the market values experience and skills more than a piece of paper these days.
Politics Universal basic income would benefit society more than traditional welfare programs
Jan 15, 2026
UBI all the way! Traditional welfare has so many hoops to jump through - I've been there, and it's a headache. With UBI, you get the support you need without feeling like you're constantly being judged for needing help. Plus, it could really level the playing field as jobs change with technology. It's time to rethink how we support each other.

It's ridiculous to put the blame solely on human activity for climate change. Sure, we've messed things up with all the pollution and deforestation, but what about natural factors like volcanic eruptions and solar radiation? It's not just us, folks. Let's stop shouldering all the guilt and take collective responsibility for fixing this mess.

I used to think climate change was all our fault too, but now I'm not so sure. I mean, the Earth has been through so many changes over millions of years. Sure, we're not helping with all the pollution and stuff, but I think natural factors play a big role too. It's a bit of both, if you ask me.
Business Small businesses are better for local economies than big corporations
DarkViper14 Disagrees
Jan 15, 2026
You know, I get the whole "support local" vibe, but let's be real here - big corporations bring serious cash flow. I've seen it in my town; when a big company set up shop, suddenly more jobs, more customers for local businesses, everyone wins. Small businesses are cool, but big corps can seriously boost a local economy, no doubt about it.
Sports College athletes should be paid for their performance

Jan 15, 2026
College athletes getting paid? Come on, they're already getting scholarships worth thousands! I mean, I work hard for my paycheck, they can too. It's not like they're out there starving. Let's keep college sports about the game, not the money.
Food & Drink Pineapple on pizza is delicious and a valid topping choice
GoldenHawk18 Disagrees
Jan 15, 2026
Pineapple on pizza? No way. I mean, come on, fruit on a pizza? It's like mixing sweet and savory in a way that should be illegal. Call me old-fashioned, but I want my pizza to be all about the cheese, sauce, and legit toppings like pepperoni or mushrooms. Pineapple just doesn't belong there, in my opinion.
Food & Drink Organic food is a scam and not worth the premium price
SwiftWarrior50 Disagrees
Jan 15, 2026
I gotta say, I couldn't disagree more with this. Sure, organic food can be pricier, but let me tell you, the taste is often way better, plus I feel better supporting sustainable farming practices. And don't even get me started on the potential health benefits of fewer pesticides and chemicals - especially for kids or people with allergies. In my experience, it's not just about marketing; there are real reasons to choose organic when you can.

Small businesses are great and all, but let's not pretend like big corporations don't bring benefits too. I run a startup and know the struggles, but big companies create jobs, offer stability, and can also give back to the community in meaningful ways. It's not all about quaint little stores; sometimes you need those big players to really make an impact.
Technology Children under 13 should be completely banned from social media
Jan 15, 2026
Man, I'm all for this ban on kids under 13 using social media. With all the trolls, creepy ads, and cyberbullying out there, do we really want our young ones exposed to that mess? Let's let them be kids a little longer without this digital chaos, you know?

I'm not buying this whole "climate change is all our fault" idea. I mean, come on, the Earth's been around for billions of years - how could we suddenly mess things up so badly in just a few centuries? We're important, but let's not get too full of ourselves here.
Travel Airbnb has destroyed local housing markets and communities
Jan 15, 2026
Totally feel this. I've seen my own neighborhood change as more apartments got turned into short-term rentals. It's like everyone's more interested in catering to tourists than keeping the community alive. It's a real struggle when regular folks can't even afford to live in their own cities anymore.

Come on, guys, climate change is as real as it gets! I live near the coast, and I've seen the sea levels rising firsthand. It's not some media conspiracy, it's happening right in front of us. Let's stop arguing and start working on solutions before it's too late.
Lifestyle Social media has a negative impact on mental health
Jan 15, 2026
Man, I totally agree - social media can really mess with your mental health. I've seen how it makes my friends and family doubt themselves constantly. Like, it's a highlight reel of everyone's lives, you know? Can't help but compare and feel like I'm not doing enough. It's a vicious cycle, man.

People act like college sports programs are just rolling in cash, but come on, most of them barely break even! Why should athletes get paid on top of all the scholarships and perks they already get? I mean, it's college, not the pros. If students want a salary, they can always try out for the big leagues after graduation.

Lifestyle Social media has made us more lonely despite being more connected
CosmicLion55 Agrees
Jan 14, 2026
Absolutely agree. Social media can give the illusion of connection, but it's often superficial and doesn't replace real face-to-face interactions. Plus, constantly comparing our lives to others' highlight reels can make us feel inadequate and isolated. I've seen patients struggle with mental health issues exacerbated by this, so it's a real concern for me.

It's infected legacy carriers too. They all reduced seat pitch and added fees to compete. Budget airlines didn't just make their own flights miserable, they made all flights miserable.
