I don't buy the whole "diet sodas are just as bad" argument. I mean, come on, they have way fewer calories and sugar. I'd rather have my kids drink a diet soda as a treat than load them up on the sugar in a regular one any day. In my opinion, social media influencers definitely have too much influence on young people.
