I don't think both leagues need the DH rule. One of the coolest things about baseball is the strategy involved - managing pitchers, pinch-hitting, double switches - it's all part of the game. Plus, having pitchers bat adds a whole other dimension; I mean, who doesn't love a good pitcher hitting a home run moment? Let's keep things interesting and leave the DH where it is!
