Sports teams should change offensive team names and mascots

Back in my neighborhood, I've seen how names and mascots that offend certain groups can cause real hurt and division. Times change, and it's about respect. Teams can still be fierce and awesome without using harmful stereotypes, so yeah, they should definitely update those names and mascots.

I used to think it was all just being too sensitive, but let me tell you, after listening and learning from different perspectives, I've come around. It's not about being politically correct; it's about respect. If a name or mascot is hurting a group of people, why not change it? It doesn't erase history; it shows progress.

It's just common sense, why would anyone want to support a team with a name that's offensive to a whole group of people? It's not about being "politically correct," it's about being respectful. My neighborhood had a school change their mascot from something insensitive to something more inclusive, and guess what - it didn't ruin anyone's life, the world kept spinning.
