Smartphones are making us less social in person

Are smartphones actually causing us to disconnect from those around us?

Definitely agree with this! I work in tech and see how glued people are to their phones instead of engaging with each other. It's sad when you're out with friends and everyone's just staring at their screens. I think we need to find a balance and learn to put the phones down once in a while to connect for real.

I get where you're coming from, but I think smartphones can actually help us connect in unique ways. It's like how different ingredients in a dish can enhance each other, right? It's all about how we use them.

Totally get what you mean! It's becoming the norm to see everyone on their phones when hanging out. Finding that balance is key for sure.

100% agree! It's like we need a phone intervention at social gatherings sometimes.

I've got to disagree on this one. I see people on their smartphones all the time, but it's not like they're completely ignoring everyone around them. Smartphones actually help break the ice and keep conversations going with shared interests. I've made so many real connections and friendships because of conversations that started on social media or through messaging apps. Don't knock it till you try it!
