Traveling off-the-beaten-path is more fulfilling than visiting popular tourist destinations

Should travelers prioritize authenticity over well-known landmarks when exploring new places?

I get that some folks want to feel like they're uncovering hidden gems when they travel, but let's be real - popular tourist spots are popular for a reason. I'd much rather see the Eiffel Tower in Paris than some random field just to say I avoided the crowds. Give me the iconic landmarks any day!

I get the appeal of going off-the-beaten-path, but come on, let's not bash popular tourist spots. I work in tech, and trust me, sometimes places are popular for a reason. Why not enjoy Machu Picchu or the Eiffel Tower just because they're famous? It's all about striking a balance, folks.

True, balance is key! Sometimes the touristy spots are iconic for a reason. Gotta appreciate both sides.
