Should schools move away from letter grades to more comprehensive assessment methods?

Totally agree! I've seen my kids struggle with anxiety over grades, and it's ridiculous how a single letter is supposed to sum up their learning. Let's get with the times and focus on actual progress and skills rather than reducing everything to an A or a B. Time for a change, folks!

Hmm, do you think there's a middle ground somewhere? I get where you're coming from, but could we keep some parts of the current system while adding in new approaches?

I've been through the whole school system and let me tell you, letter grades don't always show the full picture. Some of us are hands-on learners or great at projects, but might struggle with tests. We need a more holistic approach to really understand how students are doing and help them succeed. Let's get with the times and revamp how we assess learning!

Man, I have to say, I don't think ditching traditional grades is the way to go. I mean, how else are you gonna know where you stand if it's all just "comprehensive assessment methods"? Grades may not be perfect, but they give you a clear idea of how you're doing. Let's not throw out the whole system just 'cause it's not perfect.
