Absolutely agree! I work in healthcare, and let me tell you, people are so much more than a test score. Everyone learns differently and has unique strengths that these tests just can't capture. We should be focusing on holistic assessments that consider a student's progress, potential, and individual circumstances. Let's not reduce someone's education to a bubble sheet.

You know what grinds my gears? Standardized tests acting like they can sum up a student's whole worth in a few hours of bubbling in scantrons. I've seen kids who excel in real-world applications struggle on these tests while some test-taking champs can't apply their knowledge outside those walls. Life's not standardized, so why should tests be?

Definitely makes you think, right? But are there any better alternatives you've come across to assess students fairly?

I get where you're coming from, but do you think there's a better way to ensure fairness in evaluating students' knowledge?

I've been teaching for years, and let me tell you, standardized testing isn't perfect but it's necessary. It gives us a snapshot, sure, but it helps us track student progress and spot areas for improvement. Plus, in the real world, we all face standardized evaluations at some point - might as well get used to it early on!
