Standardized testing is an ineffective way to measure a student's abilities

Standardized testing may not be perfect, but at least it gives us some consistent measure of where students stand academically. I mean, we need some way to compare students from different schools and regions, right? Plus, it's not like we can just rely on teachers' opinions alone - they can be biased too.
