It just blows my mind how much fake news spreads like wildfire on social media. I mean, come on, I'm from a small town, and even I can see that these big tech companies need to step up and do more to stop this mess. My grandma falling for those ridiculous stories on Facebook? That's when I knew something had to change.

Absolutely, social media platforms definitely need to step up their game when it comes to fake news. I've seen friends and family fall for outrageous lies spread online, and it's dangerous. They have the power and the resources to do more to combat this - they need to prioritize truth over clicks.

I get that fake news is a huge issue, but expecting social media platforms to be the ultimate fact-checkers is a bit much. We gotta take some responsibility for verifying information ourselves instead of relying on big companies to do it for us. Plus, who decides what's "fake" anyway? It's a slippery slope to censorship if you ask me.

Social media companies are not the fake news police. It's up to us to fact-check and not believe everything we see online. Expecting them to be the truth guardians is like expecting referees to play the game for the athletes - it's on us to be smart consumers of information.
