Smartphones are making us more disconnected from each other

Are smartphones really bringing us closer together or driving us further apart in our social interactions?

Man, I totally agree! It's like everyone's got their noses buried in their phones 24/7. I work in tech, and even I see how we're missing out on real connections because we're too busy swiping and scrolling. We gotta remember to put the screens down and have some face-to-face conversations once in a while, you know?

I get where you're coming from, but do you think smartphones have any positive impact on our connections too? Just playing devil's advocate.

Totally agree with this! I mean, I've been out to dinner with friends, and instead of chatting, we're all just glued to our phones. It's like we're physically there but mentally somewhere else. And don't even get me started on families at restaurants - everyone's on their phones, not engaging with each other. It's getting ridiculous, man.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't think smartphones are solely to blame for this. People have always found distractions; smartphones are just the latest one.

I've been there, totally get what you mean. It's like we're physically together but mentally off in different worlds. It's a modern-day struggle for sure.

I get why some think smartphones disconnect us, but in my experience, they actually help me stay in touch with friends and family more than ever. I mean, I can video call my grandma across the country whenever I want! It's how you use it that matters, not the device itself.

Totally agree! I'm all about those spontaneous video calls with family. It's like having them right there with you.
