Smartphones are making us less social and more isolated

Are smartphones actually disconnecting us rather than bringing us closer together?

For real, I totally agree with this. I mean, look around - everyone's glued to their screens! I've seen friends out at dinner more interested in their phones than the conversation. It's like we're all connected but totally disconnected at the same time, you know?

Absolutely agree! I've noticed this firsthand - people glued to their phones even when hanging out with friends. It's like everyone's in their own little digital bubble, missing out on real connections right in front of them. Social media was meant to bring us closer, but it seems like it's driving us apart.

I've seen it firsthand - people sitting together at dinner, but everyone's eyes glued to their phones. It's like we've forgotten how to have a conversation without a screen in front of us. Social media can be great, but let's not forget the value of real, face-to-face interactions.

I get where people are coming from, but blaming smartphones for our lack of social skills is a stretch. I mean, I've made so many friends through social media and kept in touch with loved ones who live far away - how's that isolating me? It's all about balance, folks!

Totally agree with you! I've also made great connections online - it's all about finding a balance.
