Absolutely agree with this! I mean, I remember memorizing all those formulas in school, but never really grasped how they fit into the real world until I started working. Science should be all about understanding how it actually applies and impacts our lives, not just about regurgitating facts on a test. Time to shake things up in education for sure!

Interesting perspective! Do you think a balance of memorization and real-world applications could work best, or is it better to focus solely on practical knowledge from the start?

Absolutely! I mean, how many times have I tried to explain to my kid why they're learning random facts that they'll never use? Science education needs to get with the program and teach practical stuff like how to conduct experiments or apply theories in real life. Trust me, no one's gonna care about memorizing the periodic table if they can't even explain its relevance in the real world.

Hmm, I get the practicality angle, but don't you think some memorization is necessary as a foundation for understanding those real-world applications? Just a thought.

You know, I get the whole "real-world applications" angle, but c'mon, memorization is key in science. How are you gonna understand those applications without knowing the basics first? Trust me, I've seen folks stumble hard in my job because they didn't have those foundational facts down. Gotta have both, no doubt.
