Remakes of classic movies are mostly unnecessary and fail to capture the magic of the original

I feel like remakes rarely hit the mark. Come on, how many times have we seen a classic redone, only for it to be a watered-down version of the original? It's like they're trying to cash in on nostalgia instead of creating something new and worthwhile. My experience tells me, stick with the OG, it's usually the way to go.
