College athletes should be paid for their performance

People act like college sports programs are just rolling in cash, but come on, most of them barely break even! Why should athletes get paid on top of all the scholarships and perks they already get? I mean, it's college, not the pros. If students want a salary, they can always try out for the big leagues after graduation.

I get that college athletes work hard, but come on, they get scholarships and a shot at a professional career. Back in my day, we had to earn every penny we made. These young athletes should appreciate the opportunity and not be so entitled.
