Kids under 13 on social media? No way. I get it, we want them safe and all, but have you seen the data breaches and privacy issues lately?! Children barely know how to tie their shoes, let alone navigate the digital jungle. Plus, from a business standpoint, imagine the liability risks companies would face - it's a legal minefield waiting to happen!

I totally support this! Kids under 13 are too young to handle all the craziness that can go down on social media. My niece joined Instagram at 11 and it was a mess, she was so stressed trying to keep up with likes and comments. Kids that age should be playing outside, not worrying about their online image.

Man, I'm all for this ban on kids under 13 using social media. With all the trolls, creepy ads, and cyberbullying out there, do we really want our young ones exposed to that mess? Let's let them be kids a little longer without this digital chaos, you know?

These companies have internal research showing their products harm kids and they buried it. They literally know they're hurting children and don't care.

We have age limits for drinking, driving, voting. We recognize kids aren't ready for certain things. Social media belongs on that list.

Totally agree. It's about protecting young kids from potentially harmful content and interactions.

My 10-year-old doesn't need Instagram. He can learn internet skills without being exposed to influencer culture and algorithmic manipulation.

I used to think keeping kids off social media was the answer, but honestly, that ship has sailed. My kids' friends are all on some platform or another, and it's how they connect these days. We should focus on teaching them how to navigate it safely, not pretend they'll just stay off it until they're 13.

Parents should decide what's appropriate for their kids, not the government. Different families have different values. One-size-fits-all bans are overreach.

For some kids, online communities are lifelines. Disabled kids, LGBTQ kids in unsupportive homes, kids with niche interests. You'd be cutting them off from support.

The mental health crisis has a lot of causes. Economic stress, school pressure, climate anxiety. Social media is too convenient a scapegoat.

How come nobody ever talks about the downsides of their own position?

Totally agree, blaming social media for everything is oversimplifying things. There's a lot more going on with mental health than just online platforms.
